Jo Jae Hyun is an award-winning veteran South Korean actor who has appeared in film, TV and theater. Born on June 30, 1965, he made his acting debut in the 1988 short film “I Love You” and is best known for appearing in almost all of director Kim Ki Duk’s films. After graduating from college, Jo Jae Hyun and his friends established a theatrical company known as Jongak and staged many productions. He has since enjoyed a prolific career in many popular films and television dramas, including the recent “Gye Baek” (2011), “Scandal: A Shocking and Wrongful Incident” (2013), “Punch” (2014), “Master: God of Noodles” (2016) and “Solomon's Perjury” (2016-2017). In addition to his acting, Jo Jae Hyun has served as chairman of the Gyeonggi Film Council since 2009, executive festival director of the DMZ International Documentary Film Festival since 2009 and chairman of the Gyeonggi Arts Center since 2010. He also wrote and directed his first feature film “A Break Alone” in 2015. Jo Jae Hyun’s daughter is actress Jo Hye Jung.

Young Joo is a detective. As she spends the better part of her time dealing with criminals, she tends to speak bluntly, but she also has a girlish side to her. Dong Joon is a judge who refuses to use his family's connections and wants to stand on his own. Young Joo's father has been framed for murder, so she tries to prove his innocence. She hopes Dong Joon will help her father after she finds crucial evidence. However, Dong Joon is in danger of failing to be reappointed. Even though he has always wanted to be a fair and righteous judge, he succumbs to temptation when faced with the danger of not being reappointed and convicts Young Joo's father. Young Joo and Dong Joon seem to be enemies, but the future has much more in store for them, and their relationship changes.

What can a group of determined high school students accomplish?

On Christmas day, high school student Bae Joon Young (Seo Ji Hoon) discovers the dead body of his friend Lee So Woo (Seo Young Joo) buried under snow at school. Shocked, So Woo’s friends ask school administrators to investigate his death, but the adults seem unwilling to do anything. 

Prior to his death, So Woo gets into a fight with class bully Choi Woo Hyuk (Baek Chul Min) and is sent to talk to Han Kyung Moon (Jo Jae Hyun), the legal counsel for the school’s foundation, who wants So Woo to hide some damaging information.

As Han Ji Hoon (Jang Dong Yoon) plays the cello at So Woo’s memorial service, Go Seo Yeon (Kim Hyun Soo) gets an anonymous note slipped to her questioning So Woo’s death. With school officials and authorities trying to rule the death a suicide, Seo Yeon and her friends decide to investigate So Woo’s death on their own. Will they find out who killed So Woo and what the adults are trying to hide?

“Solomon’s Perjury” is a 2016-2017 South Korean drama series directed by Kang Il Soo. It is a remake of a 2015 two-part Japanese film series that was based on the novel Solomon’s Perjury by Miyuki Miyabe.
