[10] Rain to perform for last time at music fest in Seoul next month

Korean superstar Rain will take part in a music festival in Seoul next month, the last time he will perform for the public before entering the military to fulfill his mandatory two-year service.

A press release from the festival's promoter CJ E&M announced on Wednesday that Rain, a PR ambassador for the city of Gangnam of Seoul, will take the main stage of the "Gangnam Hallyu Festival" on October 9 while the performance will air on cable music channel Mnet two days later, the day he enters the military.

"I am just happy to be given this opportunity to perform in front of my fans and fulfill my duties as the PR ambassador for Gangnam for the last time before I enter the military," Rain was quoted as saying.

The music festival is an open event and will feature other booths where attendees can experience the music, movies, fashion and food of Korea.

Rain, real name Jung Ji-hoon, is considered one of biggest stars in Korea and throughout Asia since the start to his solo singing career in 2002.

The singer recently wrapped up his nationwide tour in Seoul last weekend after holding shows in Busan, Daegu, Jeju Island, Gwangju and Daejeon since August.
