Korean singer Rain has been chosen to become an assistant instructor at a military training camp, according to the National Assembly's Defense Committee.
On Tuesday, an official with the Committee explained that the designation comes with Rain having done well in completing his five-week military training term.
"Jung Ji-hoon [Rain's real name] has been an excellent example to his fellow trainees and did a very good job in completing his basic training exercises," the official said.
He also did well in his shooting drills in mid-October, where he shot the bulls eye 19 out of the 20 times during his daytime training and made all his shots during the nighttime training session, added the official.
Rain, who entered the military on October 10, will complete his basic training session next Monday and will serve in the military until his date of discharge in July 2013.
Before entering the military, Rain wrapped up his nationwide tour in Korea and shot action movie "Take Off: Closer to the Sun" which is a remake of the 1964 Korean movie "Red Muffler," also starring actress Shin Se-gyeong.
