How do I sub?

Hello

There's video tutorials about it, but it looks like they still date back from old viikii. The site has changed not long ago, so here is a littl update...

1/ Where do I put the subs?

You can only sub on videos who have been segmented.

When a video has been segmented, you should see this the subtitle editor with segments.

You don't have the subtitle editor? Then click on "Show subtitle editor" (located where "hide subtitle editor" button is highligted on the screenshot)

2/ How do I unput the sub?

You have to put the subs in the segments.

Each segment is divided into sub-segments:

- 1 segment fpr the original language of the video

- 1 segment per language you've set up.

To input your translation:

Make sure that you input in the right language's sub-segment, you have to click on the right sub-segment and not anywhere on the segment.

1/ Click on the right sub-segment

Before you click: dfdfsdfswvcccvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvv After you click:

===>

2/ Type your sub and press "enter" key on your keyboard

3/ Confirm that you want to "save". Your sub will appear.

To edit the sub before saving, click on "back". To cancel it (for example if you chose the wrong language), click on "discard".

3/ Where can I change my languages set-up?

You want to translate into a language but you don't get the box for that language in the subtitle editor?

That means that this language isn't set-up as one of your languages.

On viki, there's actually two places where you can set-up the languages. On your personal page (when you click on your ID), the languages are only here to show people which languages you speak.

The languages that appear in your subtitle editors are actually the ones here (from any page on viki):

To change the languages, click on "My Languages". You can choose up to 5 languages.

Save when it's done: you can now see the new languages you've chosen in the subtitle editor.
