- It is always best to cut segments according to voice and hardsub.
- The segment should start with the voice and then just follow how long the hardsubs stays on the screen.
- Best to cut when the voice starts, because some hardsubs start too early or too late and if you cut by the hardsub, then you will lose the effect/anticipation of the subs. Segmenters need to know this rule for all hardsub dramas in case the quality of hardsubs are off. Because there is just no guarantee that all hardsubs are timed perfectly in every video!!!
- Cut each segment by every line of hardsub is best, or cut segments by up to 2 lines because the dialogue is too fast or too choppy.
-
Segmenters & Subbers: During prolong no voice segments, please add:
Subtitles ~ Team Zhong Wu Yan ~ ViiKii.Net-
Please do not exceed more than 5 of those in a 1 part video and DO NOT add it when it will really distract from the video!!!
-
And if you sub even one line of translations, please read Translation Notes below.

- The setting of the segments for AS
- The background ads in the video that can cause the software to read and cut a wrong segment
- There might be other variables too.

Subbers, please use proper punctuation marks, grammar and standardized names for all translations. This is the best guideline we have for now. If you can think of better ones or anything else to improve our subs, please reply to the Translations Notes. THANKS!!!

is used in the middle of a long sentence to break it up because it is just too long to fit on the screen. It depends on the subs & video length & pace, but it usually means you need to adjust the timing to prolong subs. If the following dialogue after the long sentene is too fast, it might not be good to use it.
used at the end of a sentence actually stop the subs from staying on screen til the next sub comes up. It is really better NOT to use it. The only way you would use
in the end of a sentence is to time the next seg/sub perfectly, but then you need to be a perfect timer. I haven't learn how to do that yet. Let me know if anyone discover this perfect timing method.
- Do use
