Actor Song Seung Hun has been cast as the title role of new drama series Timeslip Doctor Jin.
Song will be playing the role of Jin Hyuk, a genius doctor who goes back in time about 150 years ago, in the new drama series Timeslip Doctor Jin, which is scheduled to air early in 2012. It's been a year and five months since he appeared on the drama series My Princess in 2011.
Timeslip Doctor Jin is a medical drama about a genius doctor, going back to the Joseon Dynasty period in 1860s from the year 2012 and struggling as a doctor. The original work of this drama is a Japanese cartoon by Murakami Motoka, published in a series for nearly 10 years. It was already made as a drama series in Japan on TBS in 2009 and made a hit.
Jin Hyuk, the character Song is going to play, is a genius doctor who is cool-headed and thoroughgoing about everything. Being hurt by his lover, he goes back to the Joseon Dynasty period of 150 years ago, attracted by a mysterious power. In the period when medical technology wasn't developed like today, Jin Hyuk develop medical appliances and medicines and become a genuine doctor.
Leekim Production, a production company of the drama series, says, "Song Seung Hun, who has a charismatic and gentle image, is the best for the title role of this drama, Jin Hyuk. You'll be able to see a new kind of doctor in this drama series."
