Hallyu star Jang Keun-suk has placed atop Oricon's yearly chart for his first photobook, according to Oricon's website on Friday.
The website revealed that Jang's pictorial "The Romance J Plus Photograph Collection Limited," which went on sale in the country in July, was the best-selling item in 2011 and took the No. 1 spot under the idol-image DVD charts category.
Jang has beaten out a number of singers and actors in Japan while he is the second actor to top the chart since Hallyu star Kwon Sang-woo in 2006.
Jang has been popular in Japan since starring in 2009 drama "He's Beautiful" which has been remade in the country and he has led a successful singing career there as well.
He is currently working on a new TV series "Love Rain" (translated title) opposite Girls' Generation member Yoona.
