KBS medical drama "Brain" wrapped up its two-month run in second place on the Monday and Tuesday primetime lineup this week. According to figures by TNmS (Total National Multimedia Statistics), "Brain," starring Shin Ha-kyun and Choi Jung-won, brought in viewership ratings of 6.5 percent on January 16 and saw a jump of 12.3 percentage points on its final episode last night. The sudden nosedive in the ratings for "Brain," which up till last week had posted ratings in the high 16 to 17 percentile range, came because South Korea's integrated cable operators stopped carrying KBS2 TV station's signal due to their conflict of fee payments with KBS. Korean actor Park Hae-jin will receive an award at an upcoming ceremony in China which recognizes the best in TV and film, according to his agency WM Entertainment on Wednesday. WM announced through a press release that Park will receive the prize for most popular Asian actor for his role in Chinese series "Another Shiny Life" (translated title) at the "2012 LETV Movie and Drama Award Ceremony" set to take place in Beijing on March 23. KBS medical drama "Brain" saw its third victory atop the Monday and Tuesday primetime lineup during the second week of January. On Wednesday, TNmS' (Total National Multimedia Statistics) data revealed that the Shin Ha-kyun and Choi Jung-won starrer delivered ratings of 16.5 percent on January 9 and led the way the following day as well with ratings of 17.6 percent. Actor Park Hae-jin will start his activities to the year 2012 with a movie, according to his agency WM Company on Monday. A press release by WM stated that Park will star in "Snow Sea" (translated title) which will mark his big screen debut and return to the Korean entertainment industry for the first time in three years. Park, 28, had turned his attention to the Chinese market since appearing in KBS TV series "Hot Blood" in 2009. Korean actor Kim Beom says he watched several foreign films in order to play his role in "Padam Padam," new broadcasting station jTBC's first TV series. Kim made the remark during the press conference for "Padam Padam" held in Seoul on Wednesday while telling local reporters on what he did in order to prepare himself to play Lee Kook-soo, an individual who believes he is an angel. Actor Song Seung-heon will shoot a short film for his fans in China and Japan, according to the film's producer Purple Cats on Wednesday. An official with Purple Cats told 10Asia over the phone that the film named "Lucid Dreaming" (translated title) will be shot by director Chang of 2008 feature "Death Bell." The film, 30 minutes long and shot in the format of a monodrama, will be released early next year as a DVD. Actress Hwang Jung-eum and actor No Min-woo are likely to play the main characters in the sequel to 2004 smash hit TV series "Full House." Photographs of actors Jung Woo-sung and Kim Beom filming their upcoming series "Padam Padam" have been revealed. A press release by the drama's promoter Baggat on Tuesday showed photos of the two smiling while shooting the series for the first time in Seoul on September 21. "I couldn't sleep the night before we went into shoot because I was so excited. Actress Hwang Jung-eum is considering a role in the sequel to 2004 smash hit TV series "Full House," her agency said on Monday. Actor Song Seung-heon has turned down medical drama "Brain," according to his agency. An official with Storm S Company told 10Asia over the phone on Saturday that Song has decided not to star in the Monday and Tuesday series whose story will be set in the neurological surgery department of a university hospital. "There's a lot to prepare for medical dramas so we judged that it'd be tough for him to start filming the show at the end of this month," the official explained.
