[10] "Brain" wraps up two-month run at No. 2 on Mon-Tues primetime lineup

KBS medical drama "Brain" wrapped up its two-month run in second place on the Monday and Tuesday primetime lineup this week.

According to figures by TNmS (Total National Multimedia Statistics), "Brain," starring Shin Ha-kyun and Choi Jung-won, brought in viewership ratings of 6.5 percent on January 16 and saw a jump of 12.3 percentage points on its final episode last night.

The sudden nosedive in the ratings for "Brain," which up till last week had posted ratings in the high 16 to 17 percentile range, came because South Korea's integrated cable operators stopped carrying KBS2 TV station's signal due to their conflict of fee payments with KBS.

In the meantime, AGB Nielsen Media's poll too showed that "Brain" was the second-most watched show in the country with ratings of 16.8 percent on Monday and 16.1 percent on Tuesday.

New series "Dream High 2" will take over the Monday and Tuesday primetime lineup starting January 30 after the Lunar New Year holiday.

Meanwhile, the No. 1 show in the country this week was MBC's "Light and Shadow" which raked in viewership ratings in the 17 to 20 percentile range.

SBS' series "SBS' "Salaryman, Cho Han Ji" remained flat in its ratings to place in third once again with scores in the 10 to 13 percentile range.
