Here is a message because we've received complaints about the way we're working lately.

We know that when we ask you to wait before watching / commenting / subbing in non-english languages, it bothers you because you're all exited about dramas.

Unfortunately, viikii has limited server capacity - just as any other website has- and because of the success viikii has, working on dramas while everybody's around can be like hell for contributors.

But when you complain about us not thinking about viewers…Who do you think we're segmenting / subbing for? Did you ever think that if we're able to sub, that means that we actually don't need those subs? We can understand by ourselves.

Many contributors sleep only 4 or 5 hours a night and stay up late so that they can help with subs. Do you think that's because they couldn't handle some extra sleep?

You're asking us to think about you - but that's precisely what we do when subbing and when asking you to stay away from viikii some hours.

If you're all around, viikii is slowed down, no-one can work on videos and you'll have to wait like one week before you get an episode subbed.

If you stay away some hours, you'll get the episode done in one day. So, what is better? One day or one week? It looks like some viewers consider waiting as a hobby, if not why would you prefer to wait one week rather than one day?

Contributors aren't paid or whatever for what they do, they spend hours on it and they have a huge lack of sleep, and sometimes say "no" to friends asking them to go out so that they can sub. Do you think they do it because they have that much fun doing it? They do it to help people they don't even know to watch dramas.

They truly respect you by trying to work as fast as possible and by trying to give you the best subtitles they can offer. The only counterpart they ask from you is to stay away from viikii some hours, so that their "4 hours sleep" don't become a "2 hours sleep" due to the lag.

And you think that telling "I'll watch dramas elsewhere", as we've already heard, is threatening us? If you don't understand that what we ask is for your sake, then we can't do anything more for you.

As for asking more nicely to stay away, please understand that most of the people who post these messages aren't even english-speaking people (by the way I'm not an english-speaking person so sorry for the mistakes I might have done in that topic). Rather than spending hours to writte nice and beautiful messages, they go straight to the point and save their time on videos so that you can watch them faster. Once again, if you can't understand that, I'm sorry but I don't think I can do anything to help you open your eyes.

All we do is just for you, so stop saying that we're selfish or asking to think from you're point of view. Most of us don't have enough time to watch all the dramas we want because we're working for you, and yet you're complaining about waiting 5 or 6 hours.

Then keep complaining and don't follow the rules, but we can't guarantee you that you'll still have new dramas to watch then.

P.S. of course this is openned to discussion. So if you ever find a better way of dealing with the lag so that viewers can watch videos while contributors work without anyone being slowed down, you can let us know about it here and we would be more than happy to change our way of dealing with that problem.
