Yoo Ah In, the star of last year popular campus-sageuk Sungkyungkwan Scandal, will return to the big screen in director Lee Han's movie Wandeukee.
Wandeukee is based on an original bestelling novel of the same name. It tells the coming-of-age story about a nineteen-year-old youth named Wandeuk (Yoo Ah In) who comes from a poor family, doesn't do well in school, and is a rebellious troublemaker who refuses to lose to anyone in a fight. Wandeukee meets an eccentric PE teacher (Kim Young Suk) who, after several first rough encounters, becomes a father-friend to the boy. As Wandeuk learns kickboxing, he matures and finds both dreams and hope.
The original hit novel won the Young Adults Literature award in 2007. The movie is in theater this October.
