TRANSLATION GUIDE (mainly for subbers)

Hi all,

I've seen this on other drama pages and found them to be really helpful. Most of the time, more than one person helps to sub the drama, and having a list of standardized names and terms used is good to keep the consistency throughout the show.

Currently, I've done quite a lot of translations for this show so I'll just post what I have deemed to be most suitable for use. If anyone sees something else that is used frequently and should be included, or something better, just respond here or send me a message. I'll be updating the list as we go along.

Main Terms

紫玫瑰 = Roseate-Love (only when it applies to the title of drama)

紫玫瑰 = Purple Rose

紙玫瑰 = Paper Rose

甯子達/ 子達哥 = Ning Zi Da/ Zi Da Ge
甯杰飛/ 寗副縂 = Ning Jie Fei/ Deputy CEO Ning

大炮 = Da Pao (meaning cannon)

署條 = Shu Tiao (meaning french fries)

娃娃 = Wa Wa (Lin Nuo's sister)

甯董 = Chairman Ning (Zi Da's father)

王董 = Director Wang (Xiao Zi's father)

林桑 = Lin Sang (pub guy)

大魔王 = The Devil (Zi Da's nickname)

假面超人 = Kamen Rider (Japanese manga superhero)

未來人 = The Next Person (Lin Nuo's band/ song)

音樂達人 = Music Man (expert)

超人 = Superhero (also Zi Da's nickname)

小熊妹 = Little Teddy Girl (Mina's nickname)
