Kim Hyun-joong has set the record for selling the most number of singles in a day in Japan. The website of the prestigious Oricon chart reported on Wednesday that Kim achieved the feat after selling close to 72,000 copies of his Japanese debut single "KISS KISS/Lucky Guy" on the day of its release which placed him second on yesterday's Oricon daily chart. Kim's achievement takes into account both solo and group artists who debuted after March 2009 which is when the Oricon first started to compute and announce daily statistics. Korean singer and actor Kim Hyun-joong has secured the No. 2 spot on Oricon's daily chart with his latest single, according to its official website on Thursday. Oricon's website showed that Kim moved 71,812 copies of his Japanese debut single "KISS KISS/Lucky Guy" which was released in the country on January 25. The single, produced in three editions, includes the Japanese version of his hit songs "KISS KISS" which is also the title track, "Lucky Guy," "Break Down" and love tune "U." Korean singer and actor Kim Hyun-joong has denied news on his possible appearance in an upcoming KBS variety program, downplaying a report from early in the day which said that he has been offered a role in a new show. On Friday, an official with Kim's agency KEYEAST told 10Asia over the phone, "Kim was not offered a role in a new entertainment program although he met with the producer who will be in charge of the follow-up show to 'Two Nights and One Day' but it was only to exchange greetings for the new year." Three different album covers to Korean singer Kim Hyun-joong's Japanese debut single has been revealed. On Friday, a press release from KEYEAST revealed the covers and tracklist to Kim's single "KISS KISS/Lucky Guy" set to hit stores on January 25. The upcoming single will include the Japanese version of his hit songs "KISS KISS" which is also the title track, "Lucky Guy," "Break Down" and love tune "U." Korean singer and actor Kim Hyun-joong will start off the year 2012 with his first fan meeting in Seoul, according to his agency KEYEAST. On Thursday, KEYEAST announced in a press release that Kim will meet with several thousands of fans for his fan event "2012 KIMHYUNJOONG Fanmeeting in Seoul" at the Jamsil Indoor Stadium in Seoul on January 21 of next year.
