PrefaceTo simply describe the job of a Segmenter -- it is to a cut segments in a video to match Voice or No Voice into segments for putting in subtitles.
Segmenting may sound like a simple task to do, but in reality it is not.
Well, the difficulty is in synchronizing the timing of the Voice and/or No Voice to a segment. That is, the moment one hears the actor speak, the subtitles appear in the same moment, and the length of time the subtitle should remain on the screen for the viewer to complete reading the subtitles. The other difficulty is when to apply a Voice-Voice or a Voice-No Voice segments in the video. The thing about segmenting is that the more you practice, the better you get at using your instinct and improving your segmenting techniques.
NOTICE TO NEWBIES
Key protocols to applicants from the Registration Team
1) Read all the Topics related to segmenting as well as Segmenter 101 Project rules for newbies.
2) Segmenter101 training Program is not an instant noodle or MacDonalds' Segmenting project. Newbies take an average, of 3 months - 6 months to graduate. The duration of training will vary from individual to individual as it depends on how regular you are in doing your assignments and Real Live Video Projects.
3) The tutors and mentors are all volunteers. APART from coaching newbies they actively segmenting real live drama/movies and or are channel managers, moderators, translators, editors, uploaders or subbers. Therefore, we need to know how genuine you are in Segmenter101 Training Program so as not to waste these volunteers' time and effort in
coaching you.
4) Note that during your training period, you are not allowed to do any segmenting without Segmenter 101 Project management's permission.
5) Do check on regular updates on the forum. We may have announcements that are important to update everyone in 101.
6) Please be informed that we have a waiting list of newbies, waiting to be admitted. So, if at anytime, you wish to give up, or you no longer are serious, and you are in the cut-list, we will admit new students in your place.
7) If at anytime, you feel that this is not working out, you need to talk to someone, you may message Mint or any of the coordinator staff.

Training Program Road Map
a) IMPORTANT -- YOU MUST message ALL your assigned mentors and Mint after each vid that you cut or corrected. This communication is one of the KEY essence in the training program.
b) Create a VIDEO REPORT CHART on your MY page to record your assignments, mentors, PV access date, Latest Action on RVPs, etc. Example Reference on how to create the Chart:

d) This includes each correction made and real live vids
e) If you do not access your vids within a certain time frame, you will be cut out. Or if you breach any of our rules, you will be expelled from 101. We may circulate your name to drama managers.
