
SBS' historical drama "Deep Rooted Tree" ended its two month run this week, maintaining its title as the most-watched show on the Wednesday and Thursday night for the 11th time.
"Tree," starring Han Suk-kyu, Shin Se-gyeong and Jang Huk, pulled in ratings of 19.7 percent on Wednesday night and had 23.6 percent of the audience tune in on its final episode, according to the figures by TNmS (Total National Multimedia Statistics) on Friday.
The saga held onto its No. 1 position on AGB Media Nielsen's chart as well with viewership ratings of 21.4 percent on December 21 and saw its score rise by 4 percent on last night's episode.
The final episode of "Tree" showed how King Sejong (Han) had to deal with the death of So-ee (Shin), Chae-yoon (Jang Hyuk), Moo-hul (Jung Jin-oong) and his enemy Jung Ki-jun (Yoon Jae-moon).
New series "Take Care of Us Captain," starring Ji Jin-hee and Ku Hye-sun, is scheduled to take over the Wednesday and Thursday primetime lineup starting January 4 of next year.
In the meantime, Park Min-young and Chun Jung-myung starrer KBS' "Glory Jane" followed "Tree" with ratings in the 14 to 15 percentile range while MBC's "Flower, I Am" trailed behind with scores in the five percentile range.
