is used in the middle of a long sentence to break it up because it is just too long to fit on the screen. It depends on the subs & video length & pace, but it usually means you need to adjust the timing to prolong subs. If the following dialogue after the long sentene is too fast, it might not be good to use it.
used at the end of a sentence actually stop the subs from staying on screen til the next sub comes up. It is really better NOT to use it. The only way you would use
in the end of a sentence is to time the next seg/sub perfectly, but then you need to be a perfect timer. I haven't learn how to do that yet. Let me know if anyone discover this perfect timing method.
- Do use
- Do adjust timing if subs requires it.
- Example: Long sentences; if there is enough time between the next sentence, please prolong the timing by holding down CTRL key and press DOWN ARROW key repeatedly until correct time is reached. Press CTRL & UP ARROW key to shorten the segment.

NEW UPDATE!!! ~ Posted by Blanc ~ July 5
1) When the Chinese hardsubs have it.
2) When the current sentence is not able to finish before a new one starts. For example, when the speaker trailed off
A: "I..." Pause "I'm sorry."
Or when the sentence is interrupted and wasn't able to finish
A: "I..."
B: "Stop! Don't say it!"
If the sentence is complete then there should not be three periods but just one, put at the end. Do not use ... when there's just a pause between the segments. Just leave the first segment blank or put a comma, if appropriate. For example:
A: "I just"
Pause
A: "don't see the point."
This is so it can match with the Chinese subs and provide accuracy for our viewers.

PM Blanc to be on the team!
New names, please comment so I can update the list.
