On a dangerous expedition to reach the remotest point in Antarctica, a group of South Korean adventurers encounter unexplained forces that threaten all of their survival. Lead by Captain Do Hyung Choi (Song Kang Ho), the group treks through unmerciful terrain when they discover a perfectly preserved journal left behind by a British expedition team that perished some 80 years earlier. When another member of the group, Min Jae Kim (Yoo Ji Tae), is tasked with reviewing the journal, he notices some unsettling similarities between the two expeditions. And the same horrible fate begins to befall the current expedition. Will they succeed in reaching the elusive point of inaccessibility before the sun disappears for the winter? “Antarctic Journal” is a 2005 South Korean feature film by first-time director Yim Pil Sung and was shot entirely on location in New Zealand.
