So I only know a little Korean and a little Japanese, but I'd like to contribute where I can. I love Korean dramas for their romance and Jdramas for their quirkiness, and I have a huge list of favorites. If you want to suggest something I should watch, I'd love to hear it. ^_^

9 End, 2 Outs - a drama about two friends who've known each other platonically for more than a decade. Living together starts to change their relationship. Korean

Sungkyunkwan Scandal - If you enjoy a gender-bender, this one is for you. The catch? It's a feudal drama, so the main girl has more reason than most to dress as a man. She supports her family, as the oldest child with a deceased father, and by pure accident enters into the school system (which was only for men at the time). She befriends three other boys at the school, each with their own political motivations and problems, and thus begins the adventure of keeping her gender a secret while trying to complete her education without being executed (and you thought your high school was bad?). Triple - Haru, an aspiring figure skater, begins living with her surly stepbrother and his two friends in order to stay in Seoul and skate. Though they don't get along well at first, Haru manages to convince him to let her stay, and his small kindnesses towards her eventually earn Haru's heart. Knowing their relationship will not be accepted and that they'd have various other obstacles as well, the stepbrother tries to maintain his distance but finds himself falling for Haru as well. Korean (NOTE: Please be aware that this drama does touch on some sensitive issues, such as stepsiblings falling in love and adultery. It's not finished, so to say Haru will end up with her brother would be hasty of me, but these are the same people who made Coffee Prince, a drama about pseudo homosexual love. I don't see them shying away from this kind of challenge.)
