Green Day, an American punk rock band that formed in 1987, is credited for helping to bring mainstream interest to punk rock music. The band has won numerous Grammy Awards and sold millions of records. The band members are Billie Joe Armstrong (lead vocalist and guitarist), Mike Dirnt (bassist and backing vocalist) and Tre Cool (drummer).
