Sandara Park is a South Korean singer, actress and model who is best known for being a member of the K-pop girl group 2NE1. She also goes by the names Dara and Sandy. She was born on November 12, 1984, in Pusan, South Korea, but her family moved to the Philippines when she was 10 years old to start a trading business. In 2004, Sandara rose to fame after competing in the Philippine reality talent search program “Star Circle Quest,” finishing in second place behind Hero Angeles. The show launched her career as a model and actress in the Philippines. After returning to Korea with her family in 2007, Sandara signed with a Korean agency and debuted with 2NE1. She also has branched out into acting in Korea, with notable roles in “The Return of Iljimae” (2009), “Dr. Ian” (2015) and the web drama “We Broke Up” (2015). Sandara Park’s brother is Cheongdung, a former member of the boy band MBLAQ.
