Jo Jae Hyun is an award-winning veteran South Korean actor who has appeared in film, TV and theater. Born on June 30, 1965, he made his acting debut in the 1988 short film “I Love You” and is best known for appearing in almost all of director Kim Ki Duk’s films. After graduating from college, Jo Jae Hyun and his friends established a theatrical company known as Jongak and staged many productions. He has since enjoyed a prolific career in many popular films and television dramas, including the recent “Gye Baek” (2011), “Scandal: A Shocking and Wrongful Incident” (2013), “Punch” (2014), “Master: God of Noodles” (2016) and “Solomon's Perjury” (2016-2017). In addition to his acting, Jo Jae Hyun has served as chairman of the Gyeonggi Film Council since 2009, executive festival director of the DMZ International Documentary Film Festival since 2009 and chairman of the Gyeonggi Arts Center since 2010. He also wrote and directed his first feature film “A Break Alone” in 2015. Jo Jae Hyun’s daughter is actress Jo Hye Jung.
