Eric Mun is the stage name of Mun Jung Hyuk, a Korean American singer and actor active in South Korea. Born on February 16, 1979, in Seoul, he moved with his family to Los Angeles, California, when he was in middle school. Eric Mun returned to Korea in 1996 to become a music trainee and debuted as the leader and lead rapper of the K-pop boy group Shinhwa in 1998. He made his acting debut in the 2003 television drama “Breathless” and then shot to fame with the 2004 drama “Phoenix.” He has since starred in “Super Rookie” (2005), “Que Sera Sera” (2007), “Strongest Chil Woo” (2008), “Spy Myung Wol” (2011), “Discovery of Love” (2014) and “Oh Hae Young Again” (2016). Eric Mun gave up his U.S. citizenship in 2003 and was the first Shinhwa member to serve his mandatory Korean military service from 2008 to 2010. In 2014, Eric Mun and longtime manager Lee Jong Hyun established E&J Entertainment, a management agency to oversee Eric Mun’s activities. He also is co-CEO of Shinhwa Company with Lee Min Woo.
