Yoo Hee Yeol is a South Korean singer-songwriter, producer and popular radio DJ. Born on April 19, 1971, Yoo Hee Yeol graduated from the prestigious Seoul National University’s College of Music with a major in composition and won the grand prize at the 4th Yoo Jae Ha Music Contest in 1992. He started the project band Toy in 1994 with Yoon Jeong Oh, who left after the band’s first album, leaving Yoo Hee Yeol as the sole member of the band. But the band has enjoyed success, with guest vocalists invited to sing on the successful albums with Yoo Hee Yeol. He also has served as producer for many other K-pop musicians, including Lee Seung Hwan, Yoon Jong Shin, Lee Sora and Lee Moon Se.
In addition to his musical endeavors, Yoo Hee Yeol has hosted the major K-pop live music show “Yoo Hee Yeol’s Sketchbook” since 2009 and joined the cast of “SNL Korea” in September 2013.
