Kim Eui Sung is an award-winning veteran South Korean film actor. Born on December 17, 1965, he made his acting debut in the 1995 film “Mom Has a Lover” and has enjoyed a prolific career in films since then. His role in the 2016 film “Train to Busan” garnered him the Best Supporting Actor at the 53rd Baeksang Arts Awards. He branched into television dramas with “Six Flying Dragons” (2015-2016) and “W” (2016), for which he won Best Supporting Actor at the 2016 APAN Star Awards and the 2016 MBC Drama Awards.

In modern-day South Korea, a supernatural alien named Guard (Kim Woo Bin) and a flying robot sidekick named Thunder manage prisoners who are “locked” into human bodies and brains. They are now on a quest to thwart a group of evil aliens to escape their human forms. Meanwhile, back in the year 1391, a bounty hunter and Taoist magician named Muruk (Ryu Jun Yeol) is on his own quest for a powerful sword known as the Divine Blade, as is a young pistol-wielding woman named Lee An (Kim Tae Ri). Both hope to swap the sword for a massive reward, as do a host of other rival opportunistic bounty hunters...

Things get a little complicated, however, when the appearance of a spacecraft in both Guard’s time and that of Muruk and Lee An appears to open up a portal between the two times. All of a sudden, Guard and his companions find themselves catapulted back into the past, and confronted with someone from his own past! The race to find the Divine Blade is really heating up now, with the evil alien mastermind ready to play a decisive card. Can the forces of good beat their evil foes in a final, chaotic showdown?

During the Joseon Dynasty, King Lee Jo (Kim Eui Sang) is a toady of the Qing Emperor in China – and the Crown Prince decides to attempt a coup to free the nation from the Qing’s influence. His plan involves buying arquebuses, an early form of firearm, from Dutch traders.

However, a rival plot is being hatched by the war minister Kim Ja Joon (Jang Dong Gun), who wants to launch a rebellion and take the Joseon throne. Kim Ja Joon exposes the Crown Prince’s scheme and foils him.

The Crown Prince agrees to commit suicide if his men are spared but sends word to his brother Gang Lim (Hyun Bin), who is now in Qing territory, that he wants his brother to take care of his pregnant wife.

The minister orders his troops to board the Dutch traders’ cargo ships to seize the weapons.

But while aboard, one of the soldiers is bitten by a terrifying zombie being kept in a cage.

The soldier returns to his home village, unaware that he is now the host of a savage infection.

Soon, the entire village becomes infected – with its population turning into flesh-eating zombies.

Gang Lim must navigate this chaos and save his sister-in-law from the twin peril of warring powermongers and gruesome zombies. Is he up to the challenge?

Fund manager Seok Woo (Gong Yoo) lives in Seoul and is separated from his wife.

His life is his work, and he spends relatively little time with his young daughter, who misses him very much.

She asks him to grant him a birthday wish – to take her to the seaside city of Busan. He agrees and decides to take her out for the day on the KTX, a high-speed express train that links some of South Korea’s biggest cities.

They board the train, along with a number of fellow passengers, including a young couple who are expecting a baby, a homeless man, and the members of a high school baseball team.

One more passenger also boards, just as the train is preparing to pull out of the station – a flesh-eating zombie!

The zombie bites and infects a member of the train’s crew, and together the two zombies run rampant on the KTX, turning a large number of the passengers into zombies, too.

Outside the train, things are even worse. A full-blown zombie pandemic is raging, and many cities fall to the flesh-eaters.

The South Korean military manages to establish a safe haven in Busan – so Seok Woo and the other non-zombie survivors must pool their wits if they are to escape the train without getting infected!
