Ever since she was a child, field reporter Nam Hong Joo (Suzy) had the ability to see bad events before they occurred. However, she is often powerless to stop them from happening. Jae Chan receives a premonition of Hong Joo being framed for the death of a police officer by the corrupt lawyer Lee Yoo Beom, who was once his tutor, and rushes to prevent it from happening. The police officer (Jung Hae In) survives and also gains the ability to see the future. These three individuals realize that their lives are somehow intertwined through the dreams they keep having of one another.

“While You Were Sleeping” is a 2017 South Korean drama series directed by Oh Choong Hwan. It is not related to the 1995 American film by the same title starring Sandra Bullock. The script is written by Park Hye Ryun, who previously worked with Suzy on her acting debut in the television drama “Dream High” (2011) and with Lee Jong Suk in the drama “I Hear Your Voice” (2013) and “Pinocchio” (2014). The cast of While You Were Sleeping fills the Kdrama with laugh-out-loud moments, seamlessly transitioning to nail-biting sequences that are sure to get you hooked.

Can a blind woman stop a dangerous kidnapper before she becomes his next victim?

Lu Xiao Xing (Yang Mi) is a blind woman. She used to be a rookie cop, but she lost her brother and her sight in a car crash three years ago. When several women in the city begin to disappear without a trace, Xiao Xing asks to be reinstated as a police officer so that she can help with the case. But the blind Xiao Xing is unsuccessful in her bid to return to work as a police officer.

Upset, Xiao Xing calls for a taxi and doesn’t realize that she gets into a luxurious car instead and is offered coffee by the mysterious driver. As Xiao Xing fights the driver over the coffee, the car crashes and Xiao Xing manages to escape in the ensuing chaos. When she goes to Captain Lu (Wang Jing Chun) to report the incident, Xiao Xing is able to recall key details about the car and driver despite being blind. When an impetuous teenager, Lin Chong (Lu Han), comes forward as an eyewitness to the attempted abduction, both Xiao Xing and Captain Lu have a hard time believing his credibility. But can Lin Chong help Xiao Xing track down the mysterious abductor before it’s too late?

“The Witness” is a 2015 Chinese film directed by Ahn Sang Hoon. It is a remake of the 2011 South Korean film “Blind,” which also was directed by Ahn Sang Hoon.
