Punch (Film)

A rebellious high school student doesn’t have a conventional family. Won Deuk (Yoo Ah In) lives with his hunchback father Gak Seol (Park Soo Young) and stuttering uncle Min Goo (Kim Young Jae), who are both former cabernet clowns, in a rooftop apartment.

Won Deuk never knew his mother, who left them 17 years ago. Not motivated in school, the only thing that Won Deuk is good at is fighting, especially when someone insults his father.

But Won Deuk’s tough homeroom teacher, Lee Dong Joo (Kim Yun Seok), happens to live in the adjacent rooftop apartment, so Won Deuk is constantly harassed by Dong Joo at school and at home. When Dong Joo helps Won Deuk locate his missing mother, the teacher and student form a stronger bond. But can they help each other through even more challenges that lay ahead?

“Punch” is a 2011 South Korean film directed by Lee Han. It is based on the 2008 novel Won Deuk Yi by Kim Ryeo Ryeong.
