There is nothing more insidious than a serial killer who targets small children. When a series of young elementary school girls are raped and murdered, the country becomes terrified and outraged. And when a suspect is killed by police before he could definitively be proven to be the culprit, the president himself gets involved and puts pressure on the police and prosecutors to find someone to peg the crimes on and close the case as quickly as possible. The police puts brilliant detective Choi Cheol Gi (Hwang Jung Min) in charge of the case with the promise of a promotion if he can find a plausible culprit and quickly put the case to rest. Cheol Gi enlists the help of gangster Jang Seok Gu (Yoo Hae Jin) to frame as the serial killer one of the other suspects who has a criminal record. But watching Cheol Gi’s every move is corrupt prosecutor Joo Yang (Ryoo Seung Bum), who has his own vendetta against Cheol Gi and wants to see him fail. “The Unjust” is a 2010 South Korean film directed by Ryoo Seung Wan. The film won Best Film, Best Director and Best Screenplay at the 2011 Blue Dragon Film Awards and many other awards around the world.
