When push comes to shove, where do your loyalties lie? Dong Chi Sung (Jung Jae Young) and Kim Joo Jung (Jung Joon Ho) are best friends who grew up together in the mafia and have always been loyal to their gang and their mob boss. When the boss orders Chi Sung to stab a man, Chi Sung does as he is told and takes responsibility when he is caught by authorities and sentenced to seven years in prison. In prison, Chi Sung is reunited with another close friend, Jung Soon Tan (Ryu Seung Ryong), whom Chi Sung thought was dead. While in prison, a rival mob leader who lost his legs to Chi Sung a few years ago decides to exact revenge by killing Chi Sung’s parents. When Chi Sung’s own gang refuses to retaliate for political reasons, Chi Sung feels betrayed and sets out to break out of prison with Soon Tan and confront his mob boss. The boss sends Joo Jung to stop Chi Sung. When the best friends come face-to-face, will their friendship get in the way of doing the job they each came to do? “Righteous Ties” is a 2006 South Korean film written and directed by Jang Jin.
