Α congenial and expertly paced airborne comedy that blends lighthearted social satire with simple yet crazy-addictive humor and first-class acting from its ensemble cast. What can you do when a short two-hour flight turns into an absurd nightmare? Ma Joon Gyu (Jung Kyung Ho) is a hot Hallyu star who is expecting to return home on a quick two-hour flight from Tokyo to Seoul. Right after the plane stars filling up with passengers Ma's dream of a relaxing flight disintegrates into pieces. Surrounded by a crowd of excited fans the seemingly blasé and disdainful actor succeeds in keeping his cool, but not until the crucial, turbulent moments is his sense of self-control actually tested. Alongside Ma sit: an irritatingly cute newlywed couple, an outlandish monk (Kim Byeong-ok), a rich and terminally ill bureaucrat (Kim Gi-cheon), his intimidating executive assistant (Son Hwa-ryeong), and a clumsy paparazzo (Choi Kyu-hwan). The crew is lead by the perky chief pursuer (Gang Shin-cheol) and an equally persuasive head stewardess (Kim Jae-hwa). But the plane ride turns into complete chaos when it faces an oncoming typhoon. Joon Gyu faces absurd situations with his encounters with the other first-class passengers, some crazy fans, and the fact that one of the flight attendants turns out to be an ex-girlfriend. Can Joon Gyu survive this flight and make it back to Seoul? “Fasten Your Seatbelt” is a 2013 South Korean film written and directed by Ha Jung Woo. It made its world premiere at the 18th Busan International Film Festival.
