It was a time of great unrest and distress in Korean history. During the Japanese occupation of Korea starting in the early 20th century, Park Yeol (Lee Je Hoon) is a revolutionary activist who leads an anarchist group known as “Bulryeongsa” comprised of both Korean and Japanese members. To divert the public’s attention away from a massacre of the Korean people, the Japanese Ministry decides to go after Park Yeol and his Japanese lover, Kaneko Fumiko (Choi Hee Seo), for planning the assassination of the Japanese Crown Prince and leading the anti-Japanese movement. As Park Yeol faces the trial of the century for high treason, how will his blatant defiance against his oppressors play out? “Anarchist From Colony” is a 2017 South Korean film directed by Lee Joon Ik.
