Chen Kun is a celebrated Chinese actor, singer and author. Born on February 4, 1976, he made his acting debut in the 1999 film “The National Anthem” and then rose to fame with his role in the 2001 television drama “Love in Shanghai.” Other famous roles include the films “The Knot” (2006), “Painted Skin” (2008), “Painted Skin: The Resurrection” (2012) and “Young Detective Dee: Rise of the Sea Dragon” (2013). Chen Kun sang many of the soundtracks to his television dramas and also released three studio albums. He established his own agency, K Pictures, in 2010 and founded a charity called Power to Go, which promotes a healthy lifestyle by encouraging people to go outdoors and walk. As an author, he has written many books, becoming the first actor to make China’s Writers Rich List.

Winston Chao is an internationally known Taiwanese actor. Born on June 9, 1960, he gained global fame after his role in the 1993 film “The Wedding Banquet” and also is well known for his roles in “Red Rose White Rose” (1994), “Eat Drink Man Woman” (1994), and for playing the role of Sun Yat Sen five times, including in the films “The Soong Sisters” (1997), “Road to Dawn” (2007) and “1911” (2011). His best-known television roles include “Eileen Chang” (2004), “Da Tang Fu Rong Yuan” (2007), “Cold Nights” (2009), “Confucius” (2011), “Lonely Gourmet” (2015) and “Snow Girl and the Dark Crystal” (2015).

Li Bing Bing is an award-winning Chinese actress who has has received wide acclaim for her roles in Asian and Hollywood films. Born on February 27, 1973, she made her acting debut in the 1994 film “Spirit of Cops” but it was her role in the film “Seventeen Years” (1999) that shot her to fame and brought her the first of many Best Actress awards at the 2000 Singapore International Film Festival. Her other famous roles include the films “A World Without Thieves” (2004), “The Knot” (2006), “The Forbidden Kingdom” (2008), “The Message” (2009), “Detective Dee and the Mystery of the Phantom Flame” (2010) and “Snow Girl and the Dark Crystal” (2015). Li Bing Bing’s first English-language film was “Snow Flower and the Secret Fan” (2011), which was based on the famous novel by Lisa See and premiered at the 2011 Cannes Film Festival. She also starred in the major Hollywood films “Resident Evil: Retribution” (2012), “Transformers: Age of Extinction” (2014) and “The Meg” (2018). 

In addition to her acting career, Li Bing Bing is known for her work for environmental causes. She established the organization L.O.V.E, which promotes a positive, environmentally responsible living, and is a co-founder of the One Million-Tree Forest project. The World Wildlife Fund recognized her as “the most influential global ambassador.”

Snow Girl

How much will a legendary warrior risk to save his people and the woman he loves?

Zhong Kui (Chen Kun) is a fabled warrior with mysterious powers. The minor deity Zhang Diao Xian (Winston Chao), who controls the city of Hu, dispatches Kui to Hell to steal the valuable artifact known as the Dark Crystal and rid the city of all demons. 

While carrying out his mission, Kui learns that his long-lost love Snow Girl (Li Bing Bing) has been enslaved in Hell. When Snow Girl is then sent from Hell to the city of Hu to retrieve the Dark Crystal, the couple face off on opposite sides. Where will their loyalties lie when their feelings for one another get in the way of their missions?

“Snow Girl and the Dark Crystal” is a 2015 Chinese film directed by Peter Pau and Zhao Tian Yu.
