Yang Mi is a Chinese actress and singer who was ranked seventh on the China Celebrity List by Forbes China in 2014 and was named Influential Woman of the Year at the 2015 Women’s Media Awards. When Yao Ji (Yang Mi), Qi Wan (Li Jiu Xiao), and Fa Cai (Yu Ai Lei), receive a cryptic text message from opera house owner Jiu Bing (Yu Qian), the four strangers find themselves gathered around a game of mahjong as Jiu Bing proposes a heist to steal back money he had given Fu Yu (Tian Yu), a corrupt official, after he reneged on his promise to spare Jiu Bing's theater from demolition. The trio accept, and the plan seems to go off without a hitch – until they discover a suitcase containing Fu Yu's unconscious but alive body, and they don't know what to do with him. As the foursome argue over hot pot about the next steps they should take, cracks in their tenuous alliance begin to form.
