Two seemingly unrelated events could topple the presidency. Jang Il Joon (Choi Soo Jong), with his beautiful wife, Jo So Hee (Ha Hee Ra), by his side, is a rising political star within the New Wave Party who declares his candidacy three months before the presidential nominating convention. On the same day, a gas explosion in Sam Chuk kills the mother of Yoo Min Ki (Jay Kim), a documentary producer. After Min Ki spreads his mother’s ashes in the sea, he returns to Seoul. Il Joon unexpectedly approaches Min Ki and asks him to work as his PR agent and film the election campaign process. When Min Ki asks why Il Joon chose him, Il Joon confesses that he is Min Ki’s real father. The revelation brings Min Ki flashbacks to the father who raised him and how he would repeatedly say that Min Ki was not his real son whenever he got drunk. Min Ki begins to suspect that Il Joon may have had something to do with his mother’s death, but can he prove it? “President” is a 2010 South Korean drama series directed by Kim Hyung Il. It is based on the Japanese manga “Eagle” by Kaiji Kawaguchi about an Asian American senator who runs for president of the United States.
