Why does society label women who are approaching 30 and single as “leftover ladies”? Liang Shuang (Wang Li Kun) and her best friend, Ou Le Le (Wang Dan Ni), are beautiful women who are approaching 30 but are too busy focusing on their careers to think about relationships. But their parents are worried that they will become “leftover ladies” who can’t find husbands and threaten to arrange blind dates for them. So Shuang and Le Le decide to take matters into their own hands and try to find boyfriends. Shuang dates Fu Yi Ping (Kingone Wang), a rich businessman who is afraid of commitment, and Le Le dates Gong Qiang, who turns out to be a control freak. When these relationships don’t work out, the women meet psychiatrist Li Hao (Sammul Chan) and boxing coach Lu Cheng (Lu Yu Lin), but will the women even give them a chance? “The Golden Age of the Leftover Ladies” is a 2011 Chinese drama series directed by Laam Chi Wai.
