Park Ji Min, Akdong Musician, Bernard Park, Katie Kim and Lee Soo Jung. Who will be the final winner to join this list of K-pop’s biggest stars to launch their careers through “K-Pop Star”? “K-Pop Star Season 6” is the sixth and final season of the popular South Korean singing competition show. The show originally aired in 2011 and allowed contestants from around the globe to audition for a chance to compete in the program. Preliminary auditions are held in Asia, North America, South America, Europe and Australia. Changes to the sixth season allows any contestant, even current music trainees and singers, to participate in “the last chance” to become a “K-Pop Star.” The winner of this final season will not choose the music company to debut with, but instead will be jointly launched by three music companies (YG Entertainment, JYP Entertainment and Antenna). The same panel of judges since Season 3 are Jin Young Park (JYP), founder and CEO of JYP Entertainment; Yang Hyun Suk, founder and CEO of YG Entertainment; and singer-songwriter Yoo Hee Yeol, who replaced singer-songwriter BoA, who served as a judge for the first two seasons.
