Synopsis
Having worked as a paramedic for the past three years, Mikoto Hanamaki (Sota Fukushi) is no stranger to death. Well aware of how fragile life is, Mikoto’s familiarity with death is only heightened by his inexplicable ability to see the exact moment a person will die. Plagued by this knowledge and his inability to stop the cruel hand of death, Mikoto has no choice but to accept a person’s fate once he sees it.
Though Mikoto is fully aware of his inability to change a person’s fate, that doesn’t stop him from trying. Constantly attempting to help those whose future he sees, that drive is taken to an entirely new level when he realizes his beloved step-sister, Sara (Nanao) only has a year left to live. Frantic to do everything he can to save Sara, Mikoto is determined to alter her fate, even when he knows, deep down, that there’s nothing he can do to save her.
Willing to do everything he can to make Sara’s last year a happy one, Mikoto does his best to do just that, all the while never giving up on the hope that this one time, he’ll be able to cheat death itself. Working against time, will Mikoto be able to find a way to save the one he loves?
