Jo Jae Hyun is an award-winning veteran South Korean actor who has appeared in film, TV and theater. Born on June 30, 1965, he made his acting debut in the 1988 short film “I Love You” and is best known for appearing in almost all of director Kim Ki Duk’s films. After graduating from college, Jo Jae Hyun and his friends established a theatrical company known as Jongak and staged many productions. He has since enjoyed a prolific career in many popular films and television dramas, including the recent “Gye Baek” (2011), “Scandal: A Shocking and Wrongful Incident” (2013), “Punch” (2014), “Master: God of Noodles” (2016) and “Solomon's Perjury” (2016-2017). In addition to his acting, Jo Jae Hyun has served as chairman of the Gyeonggi Film Council since 2009, executive festival director of the DMZ International Documentary Film Festival since 2009 and chairman of the Gyeonggi Arts Center since 2010. He also wrote and directed his first feature film “A Break Alone” in 2015. Jo Jae Hyun’s daughter is actress Jo Hye Jung.

She debuted in 1986 when she was selected to work as an actress by the TV network KBS – later that year going on to star in the film “Chung: Blue Sketch.” She has since gone on to become a major star of the small and big screen and in 2012 featured in the movie “Pietà.” She has since gone on to star in the films “Venus Talk” (2014) and “The Witch: Subversion” (2018).

Han Eok Kwan, an orphan and a gangster, lives off of gambling and taking money from merchants. One day, he takes in Jae Soo, the son of a woman he had lived with in the past, and becomes a father. When Eok Kwan is about to give up his life, he meets Hye Rim, the mother of Soo Ah and Kyung Ho. Eok Kwan and Hye Rim marry, but she dies shortly after. Soo Ah grows to resent Eok Kwan after her mother's death. Kyung Ho has also had a troubled youth. Jae Soo ends up in prison for his love for Soo Ah and his guilt over Kyung Ho. Eok Kwan lives with them as their father in a twisted family relationship.
