Despite being an illegitimate child, Yan Xing (Deng En Xi) was trained from a young age by the Chief Inspector of the Ministry of Justice to solve even the toughest criminal cases. However, when her sister escapes an imperial marriage decree to Shen Du (Ding Yu Xi) of the Internal Guard Office, Yan Xing must marry him instead to protect her family. Since neither wanted to get married, Yan Xing and Shen Du agree to divorce after three months. Publicly, they pretend to be a loving couple, but privately, they despise each other. Unexpectedly, Yan Xing and Shen Du both have strong senses of justice and work together to clear the names of the innocent. Could this shared quest for the truth help them go from reluctant spouses to caring partners? This 2024 Chinese historical romance drama was directed by Wang Wei, adapted from Feng Huang Xi's novel "The Singing Of Chang An's Copper Sparrow."
