People enter the noblest profession for very different reasons. Lok Tin Yau (Wong He) has always dreamed of becoming a firefighter after he was saved at a young age by a very brave firefighter. He and his childhood friends, Ng Dai Heng (Chin Ka Lok) and Sze Tou Bat (Joe Tay), enroll in the Pat Heung Academy to undergo the grueling training to become firefighters. There, they meet Lau Hoi Pak (Louis Koo), the son of a wealthy man who is forced to become a firefighter to support himself and his autistic brother after they are cut off financially by their father. Also at the academy is Sum Pick Yiu (Esther Kwan), who is trying to get a fresh start to support her family after she loses her job and discovers that her long-time boyfriend is cheating on her. After their training, Tin Yau and his best friends are assigned to Chi Wan San Station, where they meet Fung (Lei Zi Hong), a laid-back firefighter who may have a connection to Tin Yau that he never anticipated. As these new firefighters settle in their new careers, their dedication to their work is only strengthened by their growing bond with each other. “Burning Flame” is a 1998 Hong Kong drama series.
