Korean Buzzwords: Comic Books and Tastes (만찢남, 만찢녀 & 개취)
EN 94% Korea

In the new autumn season of "Catch The Wave," Hyun Woo and Jae Min introduce a couple of Korean buzzwords each week! This week, we talk about 만찢남, 만찢녀 and 개취. 만찢남 is short for 만화를 찢고 나온 남자 (a man who tore out of a comic book) and 만찢녀 means 만화를 찢고 나온 여자 (a woman who tore out of a comic book), both of which are used to refer to someone really (almost perfectly) beautiful. 개취 is short for 개인 취향, and it means personal preference or personal taste.
