Xiao Feng (Peng Xiao Ran) is the much-loved princess of the Western Liang Kingdom. But her kingdom is in peril and stands on the verge of an all-out war with the neighboring Li Dynasty. In order to seal a political alliance with the Li Dynasty, she travels to Li territory to wed the crown prince.
But along the way, she learns that a terrible fate has befallen the crown prince. She also meets – and falls in love with – the crown prince’s younger brother, Li Cheng Yin (Chen Xing Xu). The young prince had been sent to spy on the Western Liang, but was injured in an ambush.
Xiao Feng eventually arrives at the Li stronghold – the daunting Eastern Palace – and discovers it to be a hive of intrigue and dangerous plotting.
Will Xiao Feng stay safe as new threats emerge at this court, far from her beloved homeland? Can she find true love with Li Cheng Yin? Or will the unforgiving world of politics prove too much for the princess?
“Goodbye My Princess” is a 2019 Chinese drama series based on the novel “Eastern Palace” by best-selling author Fei Wo Si Cun. It was directed by Li Muge.
In addition to this, the original series, a director’s cut was released later in 2019, featuring never-before-aired scenes and extra episodes.
