A woman who was a talented pianist sacrifices it all so that her own son can one day fulfill the dream she once had. Chae Young Rang (Chae Si Ra) gives up her own musical career to marry the wealthy Yoo Man Se (Jun Noh Min), a selfish man who owns the largest musical instrument company, the Busung Group. Young Rang swallows her pride, becomes a dutiful wife, and takes abuse from her mother-in-law so that her own son, Yoo In Ha (Ji Chang Wook), can grow up to pursue a career as a pianist and run the family business. But her world is shattered when her unapologetic husband brings home his illegitimate son, Yoo Ji Ho (Joo Ji Hoon), who also is a piano prodigy, and declares that he will inherit the reins to the company instead of In Ha. Then Young Rang’s personal tragedy is compounded when a fire breaks out in their home, killing her husband. Able to only save one son, she tries to save In Ha but mistakenly saves her stepson Ji Ho instead. In Ha survives but loses a finger in the fire, something that he never forgives his mother for. Unable to settle for second best and seeing everything taken from him, In Ha leaves Korea to get away from his family. Years later, he returns to take back everything that was stolen from him, including Hong Da Mi (Ham Eun Jung), another talented pianist who is torn between the two brothers. “Five Fingers” is a 2012 South Korean drama series directed by Choi Hyeong Hoon.
