Tetta Sugimoto is a Japanese actor who was born on July 21, 1965, in Chigasaki, Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan. He debuted in 1983, appearing in the film “Hakujasho,” scooping the best newcomer award at the Japan Academy Prize for his effort. He has since followed up with scores of movie roles, including the films “Hope and Pain” (1988), “Till Death Do Us What?” (2015), and the big-screen adaptation of the hit manga title “From Today, It's My Turn!!: The Movie” (2020).

Kanoko Urabe (Honoka Matsumoto) lives in a rural village with her mother in early Showa-era Japan. However, Kanoko's uncanny ability to detect lies has made her an outcast, resulting in her decision to leave to avoid further burdening her mother. Kota (Kuranosuke Sasaki) is a budding writer whose works are still unpublished despite over 10 years of effort.

Life changes beyond recognition when he and his junk food-loving friend of almost two decades Yoko (Hiromi Nagasaku), decide to tie the knot.

Even though they are in their late 30s, Yoko quickly becomes pregnant. But during a routine health check-up, they discover that she also has terminal cancer. She successfully gives birth to their baby son, but dies shortly after.

Suddenly a single father, things start to look bleak for Kota. But then things take a turn for the weird when Yoko’s ghost starts appearing to him, encouraging him to chronicle his life in a blog.

Unsure if he is really just imaging her, Kota nonetheless decides to pay heed to her advice – with surprising results!
