Miyu Yoshimoto is a Japanese actress and singer born on December 28, 1996, in Kitakyushu, Japan. She won the Japan Bishojo Contest – a notable talent and beauty contest – in 2012. She went on to join girl group X21 as the music act’s leader. X21 made its first musical release in March 2014 with the single “Asu e no Sotsugyou.” Also in 2014, she made her film debut in “Yumeharuka,” as well as her drama debut, in “Is There a Vet in the House?” More recently she features in a TV adaptation of the hit manga series “Scum’s Wish” (2017) and the movie “JK Rock” (2019).

Most of their classmates think that high schoolers Mugi Awaya (Dori Sakurada) and Hanabi Yasuraoka (Miyu Yoshimoto) make the perfect young couple. Both aged 17, they are popular, good-looking and appear to have bright futures ahead of them.

But the duo shares a dark secret – their relationship is actually a hollow sham. Although they are both burning with love, the real objects of their passions are actually other people.

Mugi Awaya is madly in love with a young woman who used to tutor him when he was in middle school. And Hanabi Yasuraoka also loves a teacher – the newest member of the high school teaching staff. Unfortunately, that same teacher only seems to have eyes for some else: Hanabi Yasuraoka’s homeroom teacher.

Deeply unhappy, and tired of pining for their unrequited loves alone, Mugi Awaya and Hanabi Yasuraoka find solace in each other’s arms – although they pledge not to fall in love with one another.

But as the pressures of love and life take their toll, what will become of their promise? And will the true objects of their affections remain out of reach forever?

This series was based on a hit manga series first published in 2012.

At twenty-eight, Junko Sakuraba’s (Satomi Ishihara) greatest dream is to live and work in New York City. Unfortunately, working as an English language school teacher isn’t getting her any closer to her dreams. As disappointed as she is at being so far from making her greatest dream come true, Junko is even more disappointed in the fact that she’s soon turning twenty-nine and still has never had a boyfriend.&nbsp;

With a funeral service to attend, Junko has little time for thoughts about dreams or men. But things take an unexpected turn when she notices a handsome monk praying at the temple. Well aware of the fact that a funeral isn’t the best time to find a guy, Junko tries to ignore him but fate decides to make things difficult. With her legs numb from kneeling so long, Junko’s attempt to stand ends in disaster when she accidentally knocks a bowl of ash from the altar on the handsome monk’s head. Mortified, Junko tries to convince herself it’s okay because she will never see him again. But fate, it would seem, has one more trick to play.

Tricked into a matchmaking session by her family, Junko arrives only to find that the other party is none other than the handsome monk, Takane Hoshikawa (Tomohisa Yamashita). Will this second meeting go better than the first or have the two been doomed from the start?
