Miyu Yoshimoto is a Japanese actress and singer born on December 28, 1996, in Kitakyushu, Japan. She won the Japan Bishojo Contest – a notable talent and beauty contest – in 2012. She went on to join girl group X21 as the music act’s leader. X21 made its first musical release in March 2014 with the single “Asu e no Sotsugyou.” Also in 2014, she made her film debut in “Yumeharuka,” as well as her drama debut, in “Is There a Vet in the House?” More recently she features in a TV adaptation of the hit manga series “Scum’s Wish” (2017) and the movie “JK Rock” (2019).

At twenty-eight, Junko Sakuraba (Satomi Ishihara) dreams of living and working in New York City but is stuck teaching English. While disappointed by her unfulfilled aspirations and lack of romantic experience, she attends a funeral where she meets Takane Hoshikawa (Tomohisa Yamashita), a handsome monk. After accidentally knocking a bowl of ash onto him during the service, Junko is mortified.
