Akiko Hinagata is a Japanese actress, radio presenter, and model who was born on January 27, 1978, in Edogawa, Tokyo, Japan. She made her acting debut in 1992 in the drama series “Obenkyo.” She has since gone on to present a number of radio shows and star in movie releases such as “Crayon Shin-chan: Great Adventure in Henderland” (1996), “Akumu-chan” (2014), and “Nomitori Samurai” (2018), as well as drama titles like “Hana Moyu” (2014), and “Black Cinderella” in 2021.

When Kamiya Manaha (Riko) was very young, she attended a beauty contest with her family, and got separated from her mother. The stunning beauty queen winner of the contest took pity on the young child, and brought her on stage to help her find her family. This incident bewitched her, and ever since she has harbored secret dreams of becoming a beauty queen herself, much to her family’s displeasure. Now aged 17 and in high school, she has grown up shy and lacking in self-confidence, convinced that she is a plain Jane who wouldn’t stand a chance in a beauty competition. When a local cultural fair organizer announces that it will hold a beauty pageant for high schoolers, she dreams of entering, but dare not – convinced that the school’s most stunning students will be crowned king and queen.

But when a chance occurrence takes place at a bus stop, she gets to talking to Tachibana Keigo (Kamio Fuju), an incredibly handsome, but preening and vain classmate. Over time, she starts to form an unlikely friendship with him. She also meets a newcomer to the scene, Shimamura Sora (Mizuki Itagaki), an equally dashing recent transfer student that few in the class know very much about. A 14-year-old schoolgirl (Yamada Anna) is about to take her own life. Existence has become an unbearable torment: She is abused at home and mercilessly bullied at school. Death, she feels, will be her only release. But at the last moment, a silver-haired young man wearing a white face mask (Uesugi Shuhei) intervenes to save her. He takes her to a one-room apartment. The police treat her disappearance as a kidnapping case and launch an investigation.

In the apartment, the man begins to call her Sachi (meaning “happiness”), a name she begins to like. She, in turn, calls him “Mister” and begins to develop affection for him. The duo agrees to a pact: If they can evade capture by the police and her family, they will marry and live together for the rest of their lives. But if they are caught, they will die together. But when they finally venture out of the safety of the apartment, things threaten to come to a head when Sachi encounters one of her bullies on the street...

This drama was based on a hit web-based cartoon series named “Sachiiro no One Room” by Hakuri.
