Lee Bo Hee is a South Korean actress who was born on May 25, 1959, in Wando County, South Korea. She made her debut in the movie “The Green Pine Tree” in 1983 and won the Best New Actress award for her performance at the Grand Bell Awards later the same year. She has since gone on to appear in numerous film and drama titles, including the movies “Le Grand Chef 2: Kimchi Battle” (2010) and “Sunny” (2011).

A married couple with children prepares for divorce after 40 years of living together. The father does not agree to the divorce, and his three daughters, Gwang Nam, Gwang Sik, and Gwang Tae, don't understand why. The mother, who has lived through many challenges, is murdered while processing the divorce. All the family members, including the father and the Revolutionary Sisters, become suspects. On top of that, a romantic conflict sparks between the sisters. Will the father and the Revolutionary Sisters be safe? Who could be the murderer among them?

A culinary-themed diplomatic incident occurs during a meeting between the South Korean president and the prime minister of Japan: While the two political leaders discuss kimchi, the Japanese PM boldly declares that kimchi was invented by the Japanese, while the South Korean leader insists that the dish was first created by Korean cooks.

The incident leads the South Korean government to raise the profile of kimchi – both domestically and abroad – by hosting a high-profile kimchi-making contest.

Song Chan (Jin Goo) resolves to join the contest in a bid to save a restaurant that once belonged to his mother, using his mother’s mouth-watering kimchi recipe.

But standing in his way is his step-sister Jang Eun (Kim Jung Eun). She is currently running the restaurant, but wants to close it – and still resents her mother for being so cold and distant to her during their childhood.

The step-siblings agree to take part in the contest – agreeing that the winner will decide the fate of the family restaurant.

Han Eok Kwan, an orphan and a gangster, lives off of gambling and taking money from merchants. One day, he takes in Jae Soo, the son of a woman he had lived with in the past, and becomes a father. When Eok Kwan is about to give up his life, he meets Hye Rim, the mother of Soo Ah and Kyung Ho. Eok Kwan and Hye Rim marry, but she dies shortly after. Soo Ah grows to resent Eok Kwan after her mother's death. Kyung Ho has also had a troubled youth. Jae Soo ends up in prison for his love for Soo Ah and his guilt over Kyung Ho. Eok Kwan lives with them as their father in a twisted family relationship.
