Youn Yuh Jung is a celebrated veteran South Korean actress whose career spans more than five decades. Born on June 19, 1947, she made her acting debut in the 1967 television drama “Mr. Gong,” for which she won the Best New Talent award at the TBC Drama Awards in 1969. Many celebrated roles in both films and television followed. In 1975, Youn Yuh Jung married singer Jo Young Nam and immigrated to the United States before returning in 1984 to resume her acting career. They divorced in 1987. Some of her recent award-winning roles include the films “The Housemaid” (2010), “Canola” (2016) and “The Bacchus Lady” (2016), as well as the television dramas “My Husband Got a Family” (2012), “Wonderful Days” (2014) and “Dear My Friends” (2016). Youn Yuh Jung also starred in the popular cooking reality series “Youn’s Kitche” (2017) and “Youn’s Kitchen 2” (2018).
