Uhm Junghwa is an award-winning South Korean singer, fashion designer, and actress. She was born in Jecheon, North Chungcheong Province, South Korea, on August 17, 1969 and made her debut in the entertainment world in 1987, as a chorus member for the broadcasting company, MBC. In 1992, she made her acting debut, taking her first film role. The following year, she debuted as a singer, releasing her first studio album. Recognized as one of the most influential women in Korean entertainment, she has earned the nickname “Evergreen” and has been recognized as an idol by many young stars. Since her debut, she has appeared in a number of films and television dramas, including “The Man Who Can’t Get Married” (2009), “Dancing Queen” (2012), “A Witch’s Romance” (2014), and “Okay Madam” (2020).

2023 WEVERSE CON FESTIVAL

Mi Young (Uhm Jung Hwa), a hardworking kkwabaegi shop owner, and her husband Seok Hwan (Park Sung Woong) are thrilled when he wins an all-expenses-paid trip to Hawaii. Their excitement quickly turns to terror when their flight is hijacked by terrorists. Refusing to let their first international vacation end in disaster, the ordinary couple transforms into unexpected heroes, determined to save their fellow passengers. Despite being just a donut shop owner and computer repairman, Mi Young and Seok Hwan use their wits and courage to fight back against the dangerous hijackers. This is a 2020 South Korean action comedy film directed by Lee Chul Ha.
