Sunwoo Yong Nyeo is the stage name of Jung Yong Rye, a South Korean veteran actress. Born on August 15, 1945, she gave up her dreams to become a classical ballerina after passing an open casting call in 1965 and launched her career as an actress in 1966. Her prolific acting career spans more than five decades in television, film and the stage. She won Best Supporting Actress at the 16th Grand Bell Awards for her role in the 1977 film “Forest Fire.” Some of her other popular works include the television drama “Dear Fair Lady Kong Shim” (2016) and the film “Because I Love You” (2017).
